Solo Project/ Exhibition at Chashama's 266 Gallery
11/30/11-12/12/11
Rebecca Sherman’s Nite Light showcases an abstract cityscape of mixed media paintings and digital projections amongst an illuminated led installation with a soundtrack produced by Estelle Bajou. This hybrid genre project will unfold in Chashama’s 266 Gallery as a vibrant dialogue between moving and still images.
This exhibit is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
This video loops 3 digital Photoshop animations that combine my photos and photos of my original artwork with my digital drawings and scans of my original artwork. These animations of city lights, organic shapes, rhythmic patterns and ephemeral silhouettes are intended to be exhibited as digital projections and projected directly on three specific mix media paintings. The projections constantly alter the light to create abstractions and illusions in a physical installation of moving and still images.
